Guy advises clients at board and executive level, including banks, insurance groups, and retail finance companies, on a range of regulatory, strategic, and compliance matters. Guy’s expertise includes governance and conduct risk issues, preparation for regulatory reviews and meetings, one-to-one and group training sessions on regulatory developments, and authorization requirements.
Before joining Promontory, Guy worked for more than 30 years at the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority. He held roles covering supervision and corporate and individual authorizations, including extensive experience liaising with overseas regulators at senior level. He also worked in the Bank of England’s international division. Most recently at the FSA, he headed the regulatory transactions department for five years, where he regularly chaired the FSA decision-making committee that considers recommendations for formal refusal of corporate and individual applications. He has experience conducting interviews with persons seeking regulatory approval to perform controlled functions at authorized firms, including second-round interviews for more senior candidates.
