Chief of Communications and Marketing
Chris is a communication, media and marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Before joining Promontory, Chris served as AXA Equitable Life’s senior vice president for external affairs in New York, developing and executing strategy to raise the firm’s profile as a leader in the life and retirement savings industry. The role included guiding media outlets covering regulatory issues and advising internally on reputation strategies, crisis communications, and public policy matters.
Prior to joining AXA, Chris was vice president of media relations at American International Group Inc., where he managed relationships with worldwide media groups and functioned as AIG’s primary spokesman on a range of issues, and led media strategy throughout the accounting crisis and the beginnings of the subprime-lending crisis. He served as vice president of equity research at Lehman Brothers, focusing on the property and casualty insurance sector, and held senior positions in equity research and analysis at Williams Capital, Morgan Stanley, and PaineWebber. Other positions include vice president of communications at A.M. Best and as a national news editor for the Wall Street Journal. He began his career as a journalist in the Philadelphia area working on various daily newspapers and a wire service.
