Before joining Promontory, Tony spent 20 years in a broad variety of senior executive roles at HSBC. He most recently served as chief executive officer of global banking and markets, Americas, a position in which he drove HSBC’s global banking, markets, asset management, and research businesses in the hemisphere. Prior to that, he worked as the firm’s head of strategic implementation for North America, where he was responsible for developing and implementing the strategic repositioning of the firm’s banking and consumer finance businesses. Earlier in his career at HSBC, he held such positions as chief executive of the U.S. broker-dealer and head of market risk management in Europe and the U.S. In his roles at HSBC, he was consistently responsible for ensuring that his units met best-in-class standards in governance, risk management, and control processes.
Tony also served on the management committee at Bridgewater Associates. Earlier in his career, he worked at Towers Watson and Nomura International PLC.
