Raymond Strecker

Managing Director

Ray works with Promontory clients on large-scale program design and management at the intersection of regulation, risk, and technology.

Experience

He was a project manager for a major U.S. bank’s review of all aspects of its risk management against best practices and evolving regulatory expectations for its three-lines-of-defense approach. Within the engagement, he focused on risk information management, technology risk management, solutions for governance-related technology tools, and risk assessments. The review incorporated the bank’s full range of risk assessments, covering general compliance, Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money-laundering and sanctions compliance, and risk-control self-assessments. For a financial market utility, Ray led the definition and implementation of a new information-security program. A major aspect of the program involved developing and executing a new approach of integrating security risk assessments into the organization’s operational risk assessment, and he defined an approach to security risk assessments for products under development.

Ray has a broad background in consulting and information technology for financial institutions and has held positions in business management and practice leadership at Virtusa Corporation, Tata Consultancy Services, and American Management Systems.
