Michael specializes in corporate governance and securities-related regulatory, compliance, and enforcement issues.
Michael previously served as associate general counsel to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, where he provided advice and counsel to board members and staff regarding applicable laws and regulations. As assistant vice president for market regulation at Nasdaq-Liffe Markets, he was responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and management of all aspects of the regulatory and compliance policies and programs for a new electronic-trading market for futures contracts on equity securities and other financial instruments. He has also served as an attorney in the office of the general counsel and division of enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission, as counsel for American General Corp., and as an associate at Berman, DeValerio & Pease.
