Mr. Barry L. Zubrow

Promontory Advisory Board Member

Mr. Barry Zubrow is a former senior executive at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase, and has more than three decades of experience in financial services.


During his 26-year career at Goldman Sachs, he served as a partner, chief credit officer, and chief administrative officer. Following his retirement from Goldman, Mr. Zubrow was engaged in public, private, and not-for-profit board service, as well as serving as an advisor to the governor of New Jersey. Subsequently, he spent five years with JPMorgan Chase, where he was chief risk officer and head of corporate and regulatory affairs. He is currently president of investment-management company ITB LLC and a senior lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School.
Mr. Zubrow received his bachelor’s degree from Haverford College in 1975. He earned an MBA in 1979 from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a J.D. in 1980 from the University of Chicago Law School.
In addition to serving on Promontory’s advisory board, Mr. Zubrow serves on the boards of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, the Juvenile Law Center, and Berklee College of Music. He previously served as chairman of Haverford College’s board of managers and as a member of the University of Chicago Law School’s advisory committee and the Pingry School’s board. From February 2006 to August 2010, Mr. Zubrow was chairman of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority, which was responsible for investing $12.5 billion to help rebuild the state’s public schools.
