In 2010, Henry was appointed the first head of legal, regulatory, and public affairs at U.K. lender Wonga. In this capacity, he built a team of legal, compliance, and public-affairs professionals; oversaw all company discussions with U.K. and global regulators; and led the effort to ensure Wonga’s authorization by the Financial Conduct Authority in January 2016.
Henry was previously a senior partner at commercial law firm Herbert Smith, where he developed the contentious-regulatory and life-sciences practices, created and led the business-development function. Additionally, as a member of the firm’s management committee, he was closely involved in the firm’s international expansion. Earlier in his career, Henry was a senior banker in corporate finance at BZW Corporate Finance, an executive at Kleinwort Benson, and a solicitor at Linklaters.
