Dr. Jeffrey Goldstein

Dr. Jeffrey Goldstein is a banker, economist, and former Treasury Department undersecretary for domestic finance.

Experience

He currently serves as a managing director at private-equity firm Hellman & Friedman, where he focuses on firms in the financial sector. During his tenure as the Treasury’s undersecretary for domestic finance, he advised Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on the U.S. banking and financial system, regulatory reform, financial stability, housing finance, and management of the U.S. government’s portfolio of investments in financial and automobile companies. Dr. Goldstein previously served as managing director and chief financial officer of the World Bank, as co-chairman of BT Wolfensohn, and as a member of the Bankers Trust Co.’s management committee. Earlier in his career, he taught economics at Princeton University and worked at the Brookings Institution.

Dr. Goldstein holds a doctorate in economics from Yale University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vassar College. He serves on the boards of Edelman Financial and Grosvenor and formerly served as a director of LPL, AlixPartners, and Arch Capital.
