Jacob Beier

Compliance Program Auditor

Jacob supports Promontory’s office of trust and compliance in developing measurable internal controls, continual and targeted learning opportunities, and formalized policies and procedures for accountability and independence.

Experience

Before joining Promontory, Jacob spent eight years at the U.S. Government Accountability Office, where he assessed the effectiveness of federal contracting and the performance of major defense systems. At the GAO, Jacob led integrated teams of analysts, methodologists, and attorneys conducting analysis of government policies and processes for buying goods and services and issued numerous reports with actionable, risk-based recommendations to congressional committees and the public. In doing so, he built significant experience applying standards for government auditing and internal control to complex and high-risk programs and evaluating program compliance with all applicable rules, laws, and regulations. Jacob also has extensive background in federal procurement law and policy. During his tenure at the GAO, he was selected for assignment to the agency’s field office in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he lived and worked at the U.S. Embassy for more than six months, leading sensitive engagements on security and construction contracting.
