He has more than 15 years of experience developing and managing privacy programs for multinational financial services and technology organizations. Tom has managed privacy and information-governance compliance challenges from across the globe, including General Data Protection Regulation readiness and remediation programs, the strategic development of privacy programs, and projects advising organizations on privacy strategy and management.
Before Joining Promontory, Tom spent five years leading Silicon Valley Bank’s privacy and information-governance program, establishing a global privacy office to meet the requirements of a multijurisdictional bank operating in the U.S., European Union, China, Hong Kong, Israel, and Canada. This initiative included privacy strategy, program development, international data transfers, requirements for managing personal information, and the monitoring of privacy compliance. Prior to joining SVB, Tom led the privacy program for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and the Americas for Western Union, dealing with the complexities of privacy controls for a global banking and payments organization.
