Jeffrey Glibert

Managing Director

Jeff advises clients on risk management issues, with a focus on issues related to credit and counterparty risk, enterprise risk, and regulatory risk. His work for financial institutions has included benchmarking exercises against regulatory standards and industry best practices, portfolio and due diligence reviews, investigations of fraudulent trading activity, and risk governance, including the establishment of policies and procedures.


Jeff has more than 35 years of risk management experience. Before joining Promontory in 2007, he was managing director and global head of credit risk management for Lehman Brothers, responsible across all client segments for counter-party credit risk, including derivatives, foreign exchange, short-term financing, and the prime brokerage. He also served 27 years at Bankers Trust Co. and four years at Bank of America Corp.

Representative Engagements

  • Led the credit teams for several of Promontory’s engagements with the largest U.S. banks and clearinghouses. This included benchmarking current risk practices against industry and regulatory standards, developing remediation plans to meet regulatory issues, and reporting recommendations to the respective boards.
  • Managed several due diligence projects on loan quality and reserve adequacy, including searches for banks, boards, strategic buyers, and private equity investors.
  • Worked with a number of financial institutions to revise the current suite of risk reports to make them more action oriented, incorporate the use of reporting dashboards, and ensure that the areas with the greatest risks receive the most discussion and attention.
