Mike advises clients on accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and internal control systems, with a particular expertise in investigations. He also has deep knowledge of matters related to the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering regulations, including reviews and look-backs.
Mike joined Promontory from Clarient Group, where he was a co-founder and managing director. Over his career, he has advised more than 30 corporate audit committees. As a major partner at KPMG, he oversaw the firm’s accounts with the NYSE and Nasdaq and served in the firm’s national office, advising on reporting and other issues related to the requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He also served in a similar capacity for the firm’s mid-Atlantic region. He has extensive investigation experience, including the conducting of reviews related to the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering, such as those on control infrastructure and look-backs required by regulatory orders. He also has conducted reviews of internal audit departments’ roles, responsibilities, and operations.
