9/5/17 - Gene Ludwig and Marc Andrews Discuss Early Applications of AI in Conduct Surveillance

Gene Ludwig, Promontory’s chief executive officer, and Marc Andrews, vice president of Watson Financial Services Solutions, were quoted in a Bloomberg article about banks beginning to test Watson for employee surveillance. 

Andrews explained that Watson has the potential to generate alerts based on variances in the tone of employees’ email and phone communications. “We can see if there are various levels of anger, anticipation, disgust, fear, joy, sadness, or if they being overly aggressive,” Andrews said.

“Banks have a huge challenge,” Ludwig added. “There’s so much data here, and getting on top of that in a sophisticated way is a great thing for them.”
